A colleague turned me on to Makeover Monday, www.makeovermonday.co.uk, for data visualization. They do a weekly submission of visualizations based on data sets that they publish. It is a great exercise in working up some visuals and seeing what other folks are doing. It looks as though most people are using Tableau as their visualization tool, which makes me the black sheep of the group as I used PowerBI to do my visual.
This week, week 3 of 2020, is my first attempt and jump in and posting something.
The data is from the U.K. National Diet and Nutritional Survey and presents the sugar intake as a percent of total caloric intake. I split up some of the data and transformed it using PowerQuery in PowerBI, which is one of the great features of PowerBI. Below is the result.
